In celebration of the 5th Singapore Occupational Therapists' Day, the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists’ (SAOT) is holding an exhibition "Embracing Challenges in the Community, Enriching Lives", on 9th January 2010 (Saturday), between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, at the National Library Plaza.
A series of talks as well as education and activity booths on the themes of Geriatrics, Mental Health and Paediatrics will be held during the event. Activity booths will be open throughout the day. These booths aim to empower the public with knowledge and skills in self management and prevention of conditions commonly treated by Occupational Therapists e.g. home safety tips for elders with decreased balance, handwriting improvement for children, and tips on maintaining mental wellness.
Come find out who has won the Top 3 Prizes for the Occupational Therapy Photography Competition. Prizes will be given out by the Guest of Honour. The Top 20 photos will be on display at the exhibition too!
Occupational Therapy students from Nanyang Polytechnic and clients with special needs will be showcasing their special talents through dance/musical performances.
A career booth will also be set up for interested members of the public to enquire about the Occupational Therapy profession and speak to Occupational Therapists.
